Illustration of a Maiasaura dinosaur at its nest with young. This herbivorous ornithopod hadrosaur (duck-billed dinosaur) lived around million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous period, in what is now Montana, USA. Fossils of eggs and infants have been found in nesting colonies, suggesting that the adults actively looked after their young.
