Tuesday afternoon the official partydrove to Tauranga, making occasionalbrief stops that President and SisterMcKay might better view the beautifulcountryside and the excellent herds ofcattle and flocks of sheep. Throughoutthe entire tour, President McKaymanifested his deep interest and delightat the sheep and cattle which he sawgrazing in the paddocks and on the Maori welcome at Judea Pa. At the Judea Pa (the place whereElder Matthew Cowley spent a greatdeal of his time as a young missionary)the branch gave a Maori welcome tothe McKays and the group as theywalked on to the marae. Also presentto extend an official greeting wasMayor Wilkinson of Tauranga. Fol-lowing the welcome a beautiful feastwas served by the ladies of Bay ofPlenty district. That evening a meetingwas held at the Tauranga Town was the procedure each evening,the host groups provided entertainmentfrom their area, mostly by youngpeople, for the official party for thefirst portion of the evening, followedby talks given by members of theofficial party under the direction ofPresident McKay. Throughout thetour several excellent talks were givenby Sister McKay, President Ottley, President \1 unlock,President Mendenhall. Elder Hay,Elder Biesinger and others.
