Recruits of India Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, make their phone call home, reading only what is printed on the script in front of them, during receiving at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Dec. 15. Recruits will not be able to make another phone call until the end of recruit training. Today, all males recruited from west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually. India Company is scheduled to graduate March 11.
