Encrusted Sponge in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, North Quebec
The temperature of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence is between 0 and 3 degres celsius (32 to 36 degres fahrenheit) during the summer time. Diving with a dry suit and dry gloves is required to avoid any problem. The water is dark at the bottom even at 20 meters (60 feet). Therefore the marine life is amazing with a lot of crustaceans, fish and anemones. That picture was taken near Baie Comeau and this is one place where the greenlands sharks were observed in shallow water.
