Dr. Hallaccepted the position in 1888, and spent the next tenmonths in the study of the educational systems ofEurope. The result of his investigations was embodiedin the courses of Clark LTniversity, which was opened in1889. The institution fills a unique position as an edu-cational institution, supplying opportunities for researchin abstract science such as no other institution in theworld gives. Its methods are largely the creation of. GRANVILLE STANLEY HALL.
