Pathology sample analysis. Technician handling samples that are being analysed in a pathology laboratory. Samples of human tissue and blood are analysed here to help diagnose different diseases. Blood samples (purple cap) are analysed for levels of components such as cholesterol and glucose, for pathogens such as bacteria and viruses, and to determine a person's blood group. Other samples (yellow cap) are being analysed with standard biochemical tests.
