Siamang or Black Apes (Symphalangus syndactylus) are being kept in a cage, after residents surrendered them to the officers of the Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) in Lhokseumawe. Siamang is listed as endangered animals on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List. The reason is because of hunting, animal trade, and loss of habitat where they live.
