Seafood ready to be cooked. Bowl of mixed shellfish ready to be cooked on a open fire (lower right) in Zanzibar, Tanzania. In Zanzibar, younger women and children typically collect small wedge-shell molluscs on the beach for food. These bivalves, which burrow about 2cm from the surface of the sand, are collected using spoons. They are then washed boiled and eaten. Photographed in Jambiani, Zanzibar, Tanzania.
