During Mr. Walkers long ministry he enjoyed remarkable says that he was able to preach every Sabbath, except one,previous to his death. Whether this was literally true or not, therewas evident apprehension on the part of his parishioners four yearsbefore his death that Mr. Walker might not be able to continue thefull duties of his ministry, and the town voted to hire preaching incase of his disability; for in the warning of a town-meeting for March3, 1778, there was an article, To see if the parish will vote to hire.
