Its foliage is large and furnishes dense shade; it bears small racemes of rosy- purple, pea-shaped blossoms towards the dose of August. 25 cts. each; $ per doz. Wisterias One of the best hardy climbers, producing their great trusses of flowers in abundance during the month of May with some scattering bloom in August and September. They should be liberally fed when first planted to give them a vigorous start. Sinensis. The favorite variety, producing thousands of pendulous clusters of delicate violet-blue blossoms, richly perfumed. âAlba. Of similar habit to Sinensis, with pure white flowers. Double-flowering Japanese Wisteria This double-flowering form comes into bloom about two weeks later than the Chinese type (Wisteria sinensis) usually grown. The double flowers are produced in much longer clusters and are of a deep purple color. A most desirable, distinct and scarce variety. $ HEDGE PLANTS Berberis Thunbergi {Japan Barberry). Where a dwarf decidu- ous hedge is wanted, nothing equals this beautifxd Barberry. Requires but little pruning to keep in shape. The leaves are small, light green, and towards fall assume rich, brilliant colors, the fruit or berries becoming scarlet. Absolutely hardy in all parts of the country. Plant 12 to IS inches apart.
