The age period, 35 to 44, is one which included a slightly higherpercentage of the tenants than of the ^ The ages under 35included a greater portion of the tenants than of the owners,while the ages over 44 included a much greater portion of theowners thsin of tenants. The percentage of owners comprised withinthe age-groups increased v/ith each succeeding age-period. In thecase of tenants the percentage comprised within the age-group,25 to 34, was greatest, and declined steadily with the succeedingage-periods. It is evident, therefore, that youth is much morecharacteristic of the tenants than of the owners, and that ageseems to increased the chances for ownership. This tendency is perhaps more clearly shown in the secondgraph. The percentage in each age group who were tenants washigher for tenants than for owners for the first two age-groups,and after that the reverse was the
