This species is based on a nearly complete shell which was dis- covered in 1904, at Quinn Draw, Washington County, South Dakota, by Mr. Albert Thomson, of the American Museum of Natural History. The deposits from which it was taken belong to the lower Titano- therium beds, of the White River formation. The length of the carapace (Figure 2) is 200 mm., the width, 129 mm.
