Thatched cottages in Milton Abbas. There are 36 such cottages in the village and the are all near identical. The village was the brainchild of Joseph Damer (Lord Milton, the first Earl of Dorchester. He commissioned architect Sir William Chambers and landscape gardener Capability Brown to design the village.
