Hon. THEODORE M. MALTBIE, DISTRICT NO. 8. Hon. Theodore M. Maltbie of Granby, Re-publican Senator from the Third District, waselected by a handsome majority over his Demo-cratic competitor at the November election, was born in New York city, April 29, 1842,and is a lawyer of skill and ability, being a part-ner in the well-known firm of Case, Maltbie &Bryant, of Hartford. He has had three yearsexperience in the Legislature, having been amember of the House for the years 1870, 1874,and 1878. For a number of years he acted asDeputy Insurance Commissioner, which office he resigned in 1878. Senator Maltbie is an affableand courteous gentleman, and his knowledge oflaw and experience in matters of legislationproved of value during the last session, and evenmore valuable during
