He gradually grew intoa position of responsibility in the organization, and onAug. 29, 1870, when the original organizer and manager,J. K. Lemon, resigned, Mr. Harbison was appointedmanager by the board of directors. In August, 1874,the old firm was dissolved and was succeeded by thefirm of Reed & Harbison.
