Franz Winkelmeier (April 27, 1860 - August 24, 1887) was the Giant of Friedburg-Lengau, at 7 feet 8 inches, one of the tallest humans during his time. Until the age of 14, his growth was normal. He made his first public appearance in 1881, and appeared in Lower Austria, Steiermark, Carinthia, Görz, Triest, Fiume, Hungaria and Siebenbürgen.
