Hong Kong, 2013 The area just west of Central Hong Kong Island has changed immensely during the last 20 years. From a quiet relatively poor residential neighbourhood it changed in a few years in a very popular restaurant and bar district. The gentrification is moving now further to the west into Sai Ying Pun and even Kennedy Town. The building of the escalator in the area made the place much more attractive for visitors.
