Has for twenty-five yearsbeen engaged in buying and selling cattle. Isnow engaged in selling agricultural political associations are with the Democraticparty. JOHN W. HURLBUTT Of Westport, was a member of the House in1880, and has not filled many of the usual minoroffices, though he is now Assessor in his is a drygoods merchant, and in politics actswith the Democratic party. He was born inNew York, October 16, 1821, and received hiseducation in a private school. 145. JAMES T. HUBBELL Of Wilton, was born at Norwalk, March 17,1855, and educated at Wilton Academy. Hehas filled a number of local offices, includingthose of Constable, School Visitor, and DeputyRegistrar of Voters, and is now Acting School Visitor. He is a student at law in the office ofGeneral William Randall Smith, and in politicsis a Democrat and adherent of the party on na-tional and State issues, but not a blind partisan. 10 146 HENRY M. CLEVELAND Of Brooklyn, first entered the Legislature in1867, serving during that year as Chairman ofthe Committee on Education.
