As seen from the illustrations, the bed of the winchis a strong cast-iron frame of box section, on the topof which the gear-box is fixed, being held in positionby a mid-feather and steel screws. At the other endof the bed the motor is carried, while the space underthe gear-box is utilized for the resistance-box.
