We were able here to enjoy the ennobledtruthfulness of Bruyn and Krigel, Morelse andTerborch, as well as the delicate work of Nattierand Rigaud, and the sombre beauties of and Rembrandt were represented by someprominent examples of their various phases,Rubens and Van Dyck by fine earlier portraits ;and the grand spirit of the Renaissance spokethrough Raphael, Bronzino and Titian. Portraitspredominated in the exhibition, but some masterlystill-life pieces created a pleasant variety. Theincreasing number of classical treasures in Germanprivate possession is quite astonishing. At the Keller and Reiner Salon recently Carl MaxRebel again presented himself with a numerous col-lection
