Photo taken on November 5, 1918, by a Signal Corps photographer during World War One. It depicts the area where the Americans successfully broke through the Hindenburg line on the Cambral-St. Quentin front. The picture is captured from the ridge above the Canal tunnel near Bellicourt. A thin haze of gas and smoke can be seen emerging from an airshaft leading to the tunnel. The specific date of censor approval is unknown.
