Televised coronavirus vaccine briefing with Jonathon Van-Tam "We will not use anything until regulator approves vaccine".
On 9th November 2020 a global announcement from Pfizer and Biotech that their vaccine against Covid-19 had achieved 90% effectiveness. The novel mRNA-based vaccine was discussed on the BBC news and a briefing of UK health experts, Jonathon Van-Tam Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Dr June Raine, Chief Executive, Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency discussed the significance of the development. An announcement from Matt Hancock, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care was made in Parliament and on BBC news that the UK had ordered 40 million doses.
