Aerial view of St. George's Waterfront Stadium. In the summer of 2001, the new minor league baseball stadium opened on the former CSX site, a 52-acre rail yard adjacent to the ferry terminal. The ballpark is home to the Staten Island Yankees, the single-A minor league affiliate of the New York Yankees. Fans are treated to views of New York Harbor and the Manhattan skyline. The stadium, combined with the renovated St. George Ferry Terminal and waterfront and other improvements in the area will contribute to the continued revitalization of St. George and all of Staten Island.
