Tear film. Representation of the tear film and its different layers. From left ot right : the conjonctiva (blue cells) composed of caliciform cells (green), the internal layer (dark green) and the medium layer that are concentrated in mucins produced by these caliciform cells that help spread the tears and stabilize the tear film, the external layer (beige) constituted of lipids that prevent the evaporation of the tears.
