A worker from Chiang Mai Municipality prepares to carry KN95 facial masks to be given out to local residents in Chiang Mai municipality. Chiang Mai became a highly polluted city from forest fires caused by farmers preparing their fields for new plants. The Pollution Control Department (PCD) reported that dust in the atmosphere in Chiang Mai is 182 microns, which has exceeded the standard level, ranging from 32-182 microns. Forest fires and agricultural burning contribute to the worsening of the air quality in the province and cause health issues.
