DIEGO (March 15, 2018) Aircrew Survival Equipmentman 1st Class Bryan Zielke, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), fires an M9 pistol during a weapons qualification at South Bay Rod and Gun Club. Makin Island is in dry dock at General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) for a depot-level maintenance availability.
