The popular taste is now nearly reversed, not only in Dahlias, but in Tuberous-rooted Be- gonias, Petunias, Sunflowers, etc., etc. Yes, even the old-fashioned single Hollyhock is sought for, and again finds a place in this catalogue after an absence of many years. The set of 4 varieties here offered are in every way superior to the type in vogue a few years back, the plants being of dwarf, robust habit, while JJahlia Storm King. the flowers, which are produced in the greatest freedom, are of perfect out- line and color. A large vase of each shown at the exhibition of the National Dahlia Society in Philadelphia, last summer, attracted much attention, and was awarded first prize. Anemone. This name was very appropriately suggested for this variety on account of its striking resemblance to that most beautiful fall-flowering perennial, 'Anemone Japonica Alba.' The flowers, which are pure white and of large size, are pro- duced on long wiry stems, making it one of the most useful Dah- lias for cutting. Ami Bai'illet. Brilliant garnet tiowers, set well above the foli- age, which is of a deep bronzy-purple color, contrasting finely with the glowing color of the flowers. Evelyn. A delicate shade of soft pink with white disc around a yellow centre. St. Georg'e. The grandest single Dahlia ever introduced. The flowers are a pure, clear yellow, 3 to 4 inches in diameter, and borne on long stems. Price: Any of the above, 15 cts. each; set of 4 varieties, 50 cts.
