The constellations of Corona Borealis (centre left) and Bootes (right). The five brightest stars in Corona Borealis identify a semi-circle at centre left which represents a crown given by Dionysus to Ariadne, the daughter of King Minos of Crete. Bootes (the Herdsman) is a much larger constellation and occupies here the right part of the frame. Its brightest star is Arcturus (bottom right corner), the fourth brightest star in the sky and the brightest north of the celestial equator.
