A plaque mounted on the side wall of the eglise (church) in the historic World War II D-Day Invasion village of Saint Marie Du Mont in Normandy, France. Several members of the American military who were parachuting behind enemy lines became ensnared on church steeples and tall buildings in this village. A heated battle between the Army forces and the Germany army ensued with control of the tower of this church changing hands several times.
