The Danish National Library is housed in the building termed Black Diamond spectacularly located on the waterfront in Copenhagen

Editorial use only. The Black Diamond is one of the most architecturally daring buildings in Denmark. It is located in the harbour in Copenhagen at Christians Brygge beside Soren Kirkegaards Plads on Slotsholmen where the Danish Parliament also resides in Christiansborg. The building is an extension to the old Royal Library (Det Kongelige Bibliotek). Seats and outdoor cafe is available between the building and the quay side. The building is one of the "must see" architectural delights of Copenhagen and most canal and harbour tour vessels pass by. Here we see a different kind of vessel - a canal bus named Holmen. Two of these serve between Nyhavn, The new Royal Opera House and the Black Diamond.
