FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md – Task Force Echo (TFE) 123rd Cyber Protection Battalion (CPB), Army National Guard (ARNG), is commanded by Col. Adam Volant, and the senior enlisted leader is Sgt. Maj. Christian Smith. TFE 123rd CPB was comprised of more than 140 Soldiers from seven states – California, Georgia, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Utah and Virginia. The 123rd CPB was the outgoing TFE formation during a transition of authority ceremony between two ARNG formations whereby one cyber battalion transitioned with another under the operational control of the 780th Military Intelligence Brigade (Cyber)
