DATED 36,000 YEARS OLD, THE CHAUVET CAVE WAS DISCOVERED DECEMBER 18, 1994 AND WAS IMMEDIATELY CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC DUE TO ITS GREAT SCIENTIFIC INTEREST AND ITS THOUSANDS OF DRAWINGS, PAINTINGS AND SCULPTURES (INCLUDING 423 ANIMAL FIGURES) MADE BY FIRST ARTISTS OF HISTORY. SINCE JUNE 2014, THE SITE IS A WORLD HERITAGE SITE BY UNESCO.
