No Picnic. Victims of boomeranging Jap imperialistic greed, these Okinawa civilians huddle in a family group for rice and American rations at a military government-controlled refugee camp on the Ryukyu Island 350 miles from Japan. This picture by a Coast Guard combat photographer, landing with the invaders, is an interesting study of the clothing of the poor inhabitants of Okinawa-- both men and women in Kimonos, the men adding battered felt or straw hats.
