Shoulder anatomy. Artwork of a frontal (anterior) view of some of the muscles (red) and bones of the human shoulder. At lower left is the pectoralis major muscle of the chest. At lower right is the two-headed upper attachment of the biceps brachii muscle of the upper arm. The long head tendon of the biceps (right) passes over the head of the humerus (upper arm bone) through the intertubercular groove. The other tendon (to its left) is from the short head of the biceps and attaches to the coracoid process. The attachment of the pectoralis major to the humerus is also seen here. At top left, the levator scapulae muscle of the back attaches to the cervical vertebrae.
