His Lordship married, in March, 1772, Mary, daughter ofGalfridus Mann, of Brocton Malherbe, Esq., by whom he had a nume-rous issue. The eldest son, Thomas, the second Lord, was born inApril, 1775, and married, in December, 1797, Henrietta Maria, eldestdaughter and co-heiress of Robert Vernon Atherton, of Atherton Hall,in the county of Lancaster, by whom he had Thomas Atherton Powys,the present Lord Lilford, and other children.
