The Greycaine Book Manufacturing Company was a pioneer in the mass production of quality books sold at reasonable prices. The company began operating on what is now the Greycaine Industrial Estate in North Watford in 1926. The company took its name from its Directors, Frank Grey (real name Francis John Christian Gruneisen) and Gordon Ralph Hall Caine, both of which had bookbinding backgrounds. Caine was later a Conservative Party
