With this years' newly implemented seeding brackets, drivers were able battle their way to the top instead of the single qualifying laps done in years prior. This gave the fans a better viewing experience of the event and allowed drivers to truly test their skills among fierce competition. After a cold and wet weekend full of numerous hardships including a devastating engine fire, James Deane was able to secure the top spot for round one and take the lead into the next round of competition.
