Formula Drift is back for another year of competition, starting their first round on the streets of downtown Long Beach. With this years' newly implemented seeding brackets, drivers were able battle their way to the top instead of the single qualifying laps done in years prior. This gave the fans a better viewing experience of the event and allowed drivers to truly test their skills among fierce competition. After a cold and wet weekend full of numerous hardships including a devastating engine fire, James Deane was able to secure the top spot for round one and take the lead into the next round of competition.
