Frozen Yellowfin Tuna used to attract Great White Sharks, Guadalupe Island, Mexico
Isla Guadalupe in Mexico has become famous in recent years for its clear water and large population of great white sharks, that visit the island for several months each year to feed on seals and tuna. The shark are lured close to visiting boats using chum - a mixture of minced fish and fish blood - as well as tuna 'hang-baits' close to the boat and cages. Divers then get a perfect opportunity to see the sharks in action as they attack the baits.
