Fort St George an old soldier wears medal ribbons of the 1st &2nd W, is where Clive of India won his battles

Madras. At the back of Fort St George I met this old soldier wearing medal ribbons of the first and second world wars who came up, saluted me and showed me his discharge papers. Included with these were his record of service, he was undoubtably very proud to have served with the British army. Fort St George is where Clive of India fought, and won the British battles of India.
