The overseers of the poor chosen annually in January bythe city council in convention are, this year the Mayorex officio, (chairman), S. S. Holton, John J. Sheehan,Aaron F. Whitney and the president of the common councilex officio. S. S. Holton, a native of Northfield, Mass., was bornNov. 16, 1818 ; represented his town in the legislature oneyear; removed to Montague in 1857, and came to Fitchburg.
