He was educated in public and pri-vate schools and enjoyed the advantage of pri-vate tuition. Afterwards he studied law withCharles A. Doten, at Bridgeport, and was admit-ted to the bar in that city in 1883. He has hadsome legislative experience being a Represent-ative from Derbv in the last House. Mr. Holden was principal of public schools inAnsonia and has practiced law in that placesince July I, 1885. He has been a member ofthe Board of School Visitors for Derby andAnsonia, and Justice of the Peace. A stalwartDemocrat, Mr. Holden is regarded as a man ofgreat promise by his party. During the sessionhe has made his mark as one of the leaders ofthe majority and has never hesitated to backup his opinions. As might be expected of sogood a lawyer he is a fluent speaker. 51. Hon.
