The third week after being fresh, she produced 29 lbs. 7 oz. of butter—the fourth week, 30 lbs. 15 oz.—the fifth week, 29 lbs. 3 oz. Here is the record of four of my best cows, giving the number of pounds of milk each month, the average each day in each month, the total for the year and the month in which the average for the year is found. The first and last months of each cow's year simply include the number of the days in each month remaining, after she is fresh and the number of days in the last month, neces- sary to make the full year.
