Woolley, for the Illinois Self- Watering Flower Box Co., showed a pyramid of metal reservoir window boxes in many sizes, and one box in which geraniums were growing. For Peters & Eeed Pottery Co. he showed Moss Aztec ware and red pots. Joseph Ziska had a table of the sta- ples of florists' supplies. The Chicago Flower Growers' Asso- ciation was represented on the second day by vases of excellent Ward, Mi- lady and Sunburst roses, and a vase of excellent Mrs, C. W. Ward carnations. S. S. Skidelsky & Co., Philadelphia, sent an exhibit of Carnation Phila- delphia, which arrived on the second day in good condition. W L. Palinsky also came in with a group of good azaleas. Various Notes. Because a recent pink window sold so many baskets of Killarneys W. J. Smyth last week had two basket win- dows, one of yellow, using southern jonquils, and the other in pink, using butterfly peas. Arthur Weatherwax flagged many a passer-by by using quantities of Bayersdorfer's little cel- luloid cockatoos in the windows. With its large outlet, when a good novelty appears Poehlmann Bros. Co. is able to buy the quantity of stock necessary to get the lowest jobbing price and to sell at the regular rates for smaller lots such quantity as is not wanted for its own planting. August Poehlmann says everyone has wanted Killarney Brilliant; no trouble at all to get orders for it. In addition to the 90,000 feet of glass used for growing Beauties and roses for the Chicago market, the Batavia Greenhouse Co. has 35,000 feet used for the local retail trade at Batavia. There is glass on the place for a couple of new houses, but it prob- ably will not be used this season. Killarne
