The 555th EFS, commonly referred to as the ‘Triple Nickel’, has a rich combat heritage, beginning in 1942 as the 555th Bombardment Squadron. They have participated in World War II, the Vietnam War and currently conduct counterterrorism operations out of Bagram Airfield.
