This monument is the work of Carl t, whose design wasselected in a competitive con-test. The base of the mon-ument consists of an im-mense boulder of Palisaderock, climbing up one side ofwhich heroic bronze figuresof two Continental soldiersare represented. The artistsand sculptors idea is to showthe soldiers scaling the crestof the Palisades.
