Speaking half a dozen languages, he frequently visited the va- rious countries of Europe, as also North America, Algeria, Tunis, Egypt, etc., and was a member of the jury of a delegate of the French government or agriculture at all the great national or international expositions, taking a con- spicuous part in their congresses or meetings. His two visits to the United States and his paper on "The Pedigree or Grade Races in Horticulture," read before the seedsmen's session of the World's Fair Horticultural Congress in Chicago, 1893, will be remembered by many of your readers. Like the for- mer heads of the family, Henry Vil- morin was a member of the National Society of Agriculture of France, vice- president of the National Soc
