A German morion, late 16th century Iron, partly blackened. One-piece skull with high, roped comb, turned-up brim rising to a point both front and rear, with roped rims, blurred stamp mark (Nuremberg?). The skull with fleur-de-lys ornaments in the white on both sides, riveted brass rosettes, edges with twin lining holes. Cheek piece with two brass rosettes, one cheek piece missing. Height 37 cm. A rare morion type with unchased and unblackened fleur-de-lys ornaments.
