The Tenterfield School of Arts is a building located on the Rouse Street section of the New England Highway in the town of Tenterfield, NSW. Sir Henry Parkes delivered his Federation Speech in the Tenterfield School of Arts on 24 October 1889. He was travelling from Brisbane to Sydney via the Main North Railway. The speech is credited with re-igniting the debate that ultimately led to Australian Federation on January 1st, 1901.
