Movements are of pronation RADIOCARPAL ARTICULATION (ARTICULATIO RADIOCARPEA)The radiocarpal articulation is of the condyloid, or biaxial comprises the distal extremity of the radius, the discus articularis,on the one side, and the scaphoid (os naviculare), semilunar (oslunatum), and cuneiform (os triquetrum) bones, on the radio-ulnar articulation Fig. 97.—The bones of the left fore-arm with the interosseous membrane;the annular ligamenthas been divided.(Sobotta and McMurrich.) 126 SYNDESMOLOGY The capsule is loose and its thickened portions constitute thefollowing ligaments. The lateral radiocarpal ligament (lig. radiocarpeum laterale) extendsfrom the tip of the styloid process of the radius to the tuberosity ofthe navicular bone. The medial ulnocarpal ligament {lig. ulnocarpeum mediale) is cord-like and extends from the styloid process of the ulna to the triquetraland pisiform bones. The ventral radiocarpal ligament {lig. radiocarpeum volare) extendsbetween the ventral margin of the distal end of the radius and thestyloid process of the ulna to the ventral surfaces of the navicular, lunate and triquetral bones and sometimes to the os capitatum(magnum). The dorsal radiocarpal ligament {lig. radiocarpeum dorsale) extendsfrom the dorsal margin of the distal end of the radius to the dorsals
