The remnants of a once very important protective castle situated on the river in Ogmore village at a river crossing point and route to the sea.
The carefully preserved ruins of Ogmore castle sat between the river Ogmore and the main sea access road as well as all places inland this old ruin was one of two castles in the area, there are a set of stepping stones for crossing the river that can be used during times of low waters to access the "Merthyr Mawr" sand dunes and "Candleston castle" on the other side of the valley.
